During my time working the streets I was never awarded the nicest officer of the year prize. I treated everyone with respect — bad guy or good — but was hard on my peers when I saw holes in their officer safety practices; I remain the same today.
The Carry Options column I write for American Handgunner is one of my favorites to do. I may not work the mean streets anymore, but I still carry a gun everyday and I teach on the range at the agency from which I retired. I may be out, but not all the way. So when Mrs. Suzi called to ask if I’d be interested in writing the Carry Options column for COP, I jumped all over it.
