Avenger Boot Knife
A reader asked for a recommendation on “a solid, serious boot-and-belt knife; not a micro-mini knife or a flimsy blade, but not a chisel-ground pry bar or some monster survival knife; big enough to do some real cutting and real damage if needed, but concealable.” No problem, pal. I’ve carried and used the Katz Avenger for years and highly recommend it.
It is 8.75″ long and 6.5 ounces with twin 4.5″ edges, one plain, one triple-point serrated, and it rips. It has a real integral cross guard that’s just big enough, and a textured Kraton rubber grip. The XT70 stainless Japanese blade takes and holds an edge well and is extremely corrosion resistant. Carry options include a nicely finished leather sheath or a reinforced Cordura sheath with snap-strap, both with boot/belt clips on the back, and even an ABS dive sheath for wet work. This is one tough, professional knife. MSRP is $198.50. www.americancopmagazine.com/katz-knives
