Blade-Tech Does It Again

Blade-Tech Does It Again

Several months ago I wrote about new trends in police holsters and mounting systems that allow for the complete relocation of your holster from one carry position to another in just a few seconds. There are definitely benefits for tactical and proactive investigative units whose mission profile changes rapidly; the ability to switch from a belt mounted holster to a thigh rig or chest mounted holster can make great sense. Blade-Tech Industries makes a tactical modular mount system worthy of consideration. They make outstanding products and are well known for innovative attachment systems like the Tek-Lok Utility Belt Clip and the Molle-Lok for attaching gear to MOLLE webbing. They’re also a major supplier of all types of holsters, pouches and knife sheaths.

I like Blade-Tech’s Tactical Modular Mount System. The mechanism of this system is an attachment plate affixed to the holster or pouch, which then slides into a receptor plate attached to your belt, thigh rig or MOLLE gear. The approximately 2.5×4.5″ size of the plates creates a relatively large surface area, which spreads the load of the attached gear so it’s secure and doesn’t sag or droop. When the attachment plate is slid into place in the receptor plate, it snaps and locks into position. A secondary locking mechanism is then snapped in place, ensuring the plates can’t separate accidentally. Your holster is locked in place — until you decide to move it. This is an excellent gear mounting system and the flexibility it offers will accommodate a wide range of missions and assignments.
